    Solstice info (please read!)

Monday, April 21, 2008, 10:23 AM EST [General]

Ok, the stanzas that I asked for in my previous blog (please read) are needed! We are going to incorporate them into our Solstice Gathering so that in some way, you can all be here with us! We also will be lighting a candle for each of you who send me a stanza.

We really need more people to consider coming! There is a wonderful camp ground just down the road (check out Savoy State Forest) and I also will have plenty of room for campers here.

We are so far, planning a wonderful fire, a cleansing ritual (everyone will need a besom/broom), drawing down of the moon, a meal that all will help prepare in some way, and hopefully a drum circle...although we need people who will drum, as you DON'T want me to break out my pots and pans.  Friendship and talk, getting to know each other and a good time will be held by all!  Please, please, add your stanza and if possible, consider joining us! It's a haul for some, but it will be so much fun!

Bright Solstice greetings, I hope that some of these are useful to you, feel free to make any changes you wish.

I love the winged ones, cleaving the air above
bright colors, sweet songs these are the things I love

I love the scaled ones though they are feared by some
they have their place here gaining strength from the sun

I loved the sea ones, dancing among the flood
life of the ocean that is our mothers blood

I love the furred ones closest of all to me
they feel as I do they are my family

I love the people circling the fire round
voices now joining echoing the ancient sound

I love the lady, I love the lord so bright
may they be with us upon this the solstice night (or in this our solstice rite, depending on when you sing it)

I love Gaia's soft hills, and the meadow grasses that roll
in the breeze that she sings, the song of my soul

em, if you will send me your email i will email you the ritual we use in our coven so you can pick out something that strikes your fancy. its in adobe so i cant copy my favorite parts. just a note, it is not your typical wiccan ritual. we do a lot of shamanistic/underworld/fae work. my favorite is the invocation to the faery queen and when we place the bells on the trees.
